At the end of
1955 Singer were taken over by the Rootes group. From then on
they became a more up-market version of the Hillman range, although
as sometimes Singers were introduced before Hillmans, perhaps
Hillmans were in fact lower spec Singers. The 3 models, the Gazelle,
Vogue & Chamois continued until 1970 when the Singer name
came to an end |
